The Perry Women's League (PWL) was formed in 1962 under the name Perry Jaycettes, whose primary purpose was to assist the Perry Jaycees. This group has evolved to what is known today as the Perry Women's League. Composed of all volunteers, the PWL devotes their time and energy to fundraising, promoting unity, and sponsoring charitable functions within the Perry community.
The Perry Women's League is a not-for-profit organization of diverse women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and serving the Perry community and its citizens through leadership, fundraising, and friendship.
The purpose of the PWL is to sponsor and support community-related projects which promote the welfare and development of the community and its citizens.
Any woman who is a Perry alumnus, or who lives, works, or attends church in Perry, with a commitment to actively participate in community service is welcome to be a part of the League.
Your participation, support, and donation to PWL activities and fundraisers helps the PWL succeed in their mission to make a positive difference in the welfare and development of the Perry community and its citizens.
Community Green Day: founded by the PWL and currently run by PHS Perry Service Learning students. On the 4th Saturday in April, community members come together to clean up our neighborhoods and raise awareness about recycling. PWL provides breakfast for all volunteers.
Christmas Families: the PWL uses funds from fundraisers to purchase gifts for Perry children who are in need from their holiday wish lists.
Perry High School Citizenship Scholarship: $500 awarded to one (1) Perry High School senior seeking post-secondary education who have demonstrated outstanding community service. Applications available on the PHS website.
Thanksgiving Families: The PWL partners with the Perry Center to provide a holiday meal complete with all the trimmings for several area families who are in need.
