Career Exploration at TriPoint

Posted Date: 12/05/25 (12:30 PM)

We had an absolutely A+ kind of day yesterday with the incredible team at University Hospitals TriPoint! Students interested in pursuing healthcare careers spent the day exploring what it truly means to work in a hospital, and they represented Perry Local Schools exceptionally well.

The day kicked off with an energizing activity focused on understanding our personal brand and what we want the world to know about us. From there, students jumped into several Minute to Win It–style challenges that highlighted the quick decision-making nurses tackle every day.

Next came the escape room, where our students identified machines and equipment commonly found in a patient room, followed by the always-popular Room of Doom, where they searched for safety hazards and fall risks.

We wrapped up with hands-on simulations of intubation and laparoscopic surgery, giving students a glimpse into what it’s like to work in the OR. Students also practiced donning and doffing PPE, explored commonly used OR instruments, and were introduced to a wide range of roles that keep a hospital running smoothly.

A huge thank you to the UH Nurse Educators for their warm welcome and for creating such an interactive, hands-on learning experience. We’re grateful for this partnership and so proud of our students for their curiosity, professionalism, and enthusiasm throughout the day!
