Internship Spotlight 3/19/26 - Laura
Laura began her internship at G&T Manufacturing in Mentor, where she quickly learned how technology and automation work together in modern manufacturing. She gained experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC machines, developing an appreciation for the precision required to produce high-quality parts.
Midway through the semester, Laura moved to Avery Dennison, where she now works closely with Mr. Jack Hay, who takes time to explain each step of his process. She was surprised to learn that every label is made of four distinct layers, and her curiosity has only grown from there. Laura is designing trials to study how adhesives spread and bond, adjusting axis positions and analyzing the factors that influence adhesive performance.
In the pilot center, she works with precision tools such as dial indicators and digital angle gauges, giving her valuable hands-on experience. Her problem-solving skills and enthusiasm for experimentation make it clear that Laura has a strong mind for STEM and is likely headed toward a future in engineering. She is well on her way.
