Tuan is completing his internship with Mr. Maroun Moussallem at Joining Metals right here in Perry.  Mr. Moussallem is a strong supporter of our welding lab at Perry HS. He has visited the lab and made significant donations to our program in terms of materials and supplies our program needs.  
 
At Joining Metals, Tuan is learning about life in a manufacturing facility. He is learning about the machines, processes used, and how to manage employees to maximize production.  
 
In addition to developing technical knowledge of the machines and procedures, Tuan is honing his managerial skills. Each welder has specific tasks that must be completed during their shift, and Tuan has been helping organize this work by taking photographs of machines and processes and placing them into a Google Form for employees to check off before their shift is over. These checklists address key steps involved in specific welding procedures and help Tuan better understand both the technical side of welding and the skills needed to manage people and workflow effectively.
