Middle School Fitness Room

Posted Date: 08/26/26 (01:20 PM)

The middle school fitness room has undergone a transformation in order to help teach students the fundamentals of strength training before they get to Coach Crissinger at the high school. Here, under the guidance of Mr. Kuhn, students will learn how to properly perform exercises, use equipment safely, develop strength and conditioning, and build habits that can carry on with them well beyond middle school.

Improvements include new squat racks, barbells, benches, bumper plates, medicine balls, sleds, and TRX suspension weight training to go along with existing row machines, treadmills, and dumbbells.

The equipment will be utilized in the Team Tressel Fitness Challenge, a statewide initiative that helps students build lifelong habits. Students will soon be receiving a workbook that will guide them through the 30-day challenge, focusing on cardio, strength, flexibility, nutrition, and sleep.

More information about the challenge is at https://education.ohio.gov/Topics/Learning-in-Ohio/Physical-and-Health-Education/Team-Tressel-Fitness-Challenge

Students and families can also follow the challenge on social media using #TeamTressel.
