Internship Spotlight 10/13/26
Julia, Samie, and Raelyn are gaining valuable hands-on experience in the Emergency Department at University Hospitals Geneva as part of their Learning Through Internship experience at Perry High School. All three students are also currently enrolled in the Lakeland Community College Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program at Perry High School, allowing them to connect their classroom learning with real-world healthcare experience.
Each week, they work alongside healthcare professionals while taking on a variety of important responsibilities, including running laboratory tests, greeting patients, restocking supply closets and medical carts, and preparing and cleaning patient rooms. Their internships also provide opportunities to observe medical procedures and see firsthand how healthcare teams work together in a fast-paced environment.
Through this experience, Julia, Samie, and Raelyn are gaining a deeper understanding of healthcare careers while developing professionalism, communication skills, teamwork, and confidence in a real-world setting.
