Internship Spotlight 11/3/26

Combining his love of math and sports, Michal is getting an inside look at the analytical side of college football through his internship with the Lake Erie College coaching staff. Michal works behind the scenes to help coaches prepare for upcoming opponents by analyzing game film, tracking offensive and defensive tendencies, and compiling statistics that influence weekly game plans.

His projects have included creating a seven-page defensive self-scout analyzing play-call percentages and coverage breakdowns, tracking pass-rush and sack statistics, and identifying quarterback tendencies to help the defensive line prepare its strategy. He also organizes and records team performance data in Google Sheets.

Michal is discovering how mathematics, data analysis, and attention to detail come together to influence coaching decisions and give a team a competitive edge!
