PERRY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Miss Leiden and Ms. Rackovan's classes made Valentine's day cards with chocolate for the police and fire department. They graciously gave us a tour of both facilities. We learned so many amazing things!

As part of their math unit, our 1st graders celebrated their 100th day of 1st grade with a parade!

Registration for preschool and kindergarten opens on the morning of February 10th. Please register as soon as possible as this helps us greatly in our planning for next school year.

Congratulations to Alex Searson on winning his 3rd Perry Schools District Spelling Bee! He and second place winner, Izzabella, went 20 rounds before Alex won with the winning word, graphite, in the championship round. Coming in third was 4th grader, Penny C.

Mrs. Keene, Miss Guzik, and Miss Leiden's classes had a fairy tale theater, building on their knowledge of stories by reading, writing, and acting out fables, folktales, and fairytales!

On October 10th, our students celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a fiesta! The celebration included a discussion about the book, "Island Born", creating and sharing artwork, amazing food, and a visit from 2017 Perry Grads Susana and Deisy who shared how they overcame challenges and are now successful accountants! Such a wonderful and vibrant culture to be proud of!
