Perry Foundation Loan Application
Perry Foundation loans are available to all students who are enrolled, attend, or have graduated from the Perry Local Schools who are or will be full-time students (12 credits or more) pursuing post secondary education, including two-year, four-year or technical school. The loan application requires that you submit the attached documents to the Trustees of the Perry Foundation by June 15th of each year.

The Choose Ohio First Scholarship is designed to significantly strengthen Ohio’s competitiveness within STEM disciplines and STEM education.
The Ohio Department of Higher Education provides funding to Ohio’s colleges and universities to support students in innovative academic programs. Participating universities and colleges award scholarships to students desiring a certificate, associate degree, baccalaureate degree, or graduate degree in eligible STEM and STEM education fields.
All scholarship decisions are made by the individual participating colleges and universities. To learn how to apply for a Choose Ohio First Scholarship, visit the Participating Institutions page and reach out to the listed contact.
Designated Choose Ohio First programs are:
- Integrated with regional economies
- Meeting statewide educational needs
- Facilitating the completion of baccalaureate degrees in a cost-effective manner
- Recruiting underrepresented STEM student groups including women and students of color
Choose Ohio First funds higher education and business collaborations that will have the most impact on Ohio’s position in world markets such as aerospace, medicine, and information technology. These collaborations will ultimately produce substantive improvements to the pipeline of STEM graduates and STEM educators in Ohio. Choose Ohio First is part of a strategic effort to encourage Ohio’s economic strength by ensuring a ready workforce for STEM-related industries.
The 2024 Scholarship Program application is open from September 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025.
The Ohio Township Association Scholarship Program began in 2005. Many years prior to this, former board member Paul Smith and his wife, Ethel, gave the initial donation to the OTA Scholarship Fund, providing the groundwork for future scholarships. The scholarships are also funded by donations from County Township Associations, personal gifts, and proceeds from the OTA's annual golf outing.

The Scholarship Committee of the American Municipal Power (AMP) Board of Trustees is calling for nominations for the 2025 AMP Scholarships Program in honor of Lyle B. Wright and Richard H. Gorsuch, who were distinguished leaders in public power history.

There are up to five, one-time Lyle B. Wright Scholarship and up to five, one-time Richard H. Gorsuch Scholarship awards of $3,000 each.
The Scholarship Programs’ goals are as follows:
- To encourage high school students in our member communities to further their education.
- To create an awareness of careers in the municipal electric utility field.

The Lake County Retired Teachers Association is offering a scholarship to any senior enrolled in a Lake County public school planning to major in education. Academic achievement as well as involvement in community and extra-curricular activities will be considered. The scholarship is a one-time, non-renewable award. The amount of the scholarship varies from year to year. All application materials will be submitted via email and must include:
- Copy of current transcript
- Attendance Data
- Two Letters of Recommendation including at least one from a classroom teacher of the applicant (emailed directly to LCRTA Scholarship chair or guidance counselor)
- Copy of college Letter of Acceptance

The Antalovich Family Scholarship was founded in 2002 by the John Antalovich family. He and his family established this scholarship anonymously in an effort to alleviate some of the start-up costs for freshmen as they begin their post-secondary education. Recipients of this scholarship will be a Perry High School senior pursuing a four (4) year degree in engineering or the humanities. Deadline: April 3, 2025.
The Myka Gray & Kayleigh O’Brien “Bound Angels” Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Myka Gray and Kayleigh O’Brien who are best friends and graduated from Perry High School in 2016. The scholarship was established to reward students in the Perry Service-Learning program who represent hard work, dedication, integrity, and whole-hearted compassion as this is how Myka and Kayleigh lived their lives. Deadline: April 3, 2025.
Brandy Siegel left us all too soon on September 4th, 2018. Anyone who knew her in our school and community could attest to her radiant and contagious personality. Born and raised in Perry, it was always her dream to come back and teach at her alumni. This dream came true and she was able to spend her final years teaching Math and Social Studies at Perry Middle School. She was passionate about working with children and actively involved with Camp Sue Osborn, along with coaching volleyball, track, Science Olympiad, and working as the assistant athletic director in the middle school. The stories and memories shared from her students continue to remind us just how special she was and the huge impact she had on anyone she worked with. She will be forever in our hearts. To honor Miss Siegel, her scholarship will award $1,000 a senior student who will be pursuing a job in service areas such as education, nursing, law enforcement, EMT, etc. Deadline: April 3, 2025.
In 1986, the Perry High school class of 1951 made its mark on Pirate history. The 27 alumni, men and women living throughout the United States, had long been a group defined by contributions to their alma mater. In 1986, they established themselves as true philanthropists by creating a gift that would give in perpetuity. Each year the scholarship is presented to one or more students who have made a genuine commitment to self-improvement and to bettering the community. GIFT ’51 emphasizes disciplines for a successful lifetime. The acronym G.I.F.T. stands for four principles, setting Goals, seeking Intelligence, having Faith, and always Trying. The ’51 represents the Perry alumni who made the scholarship possible. Deadline: April 3, 2025.
The Hazel Family Scholarship was established in 2004 in memory of Bob and Ethel Hazel, long time Perry residents. Bob and Ethel were active in church, local government, and charitable organizations throughout their adult lives in Perry. They displayed a strong commitment to the education of their 6 children, all of whom graduated from Perry High School. They were also committed to supporting their children and grandchildren’s secondary educations, and instilled in them the importance of lifelong learning and service to their communities and country. Deadline: April 3, 2025.
This scholarship was established in 2002 to honor Perry High School mathematics teacher, Linda Spencer. Mrs. Spencer’s dedication to teaching and enthusiasm for mathematics inspired countless students to challenge themselves in their pursuit of knowledge and skills in mathematics. To perpetuate the lifetime personal excellence exhibited by Linda Spencer, her family offers this scholarship as an encouragement to talented mathematics students who plan to continue their education in the field of mathematics, science, engineering, or mathematics education. Deadline: April 3, 2025.
This scholarship was established in 2002 in memory of Patty (Poling) Yankie. Patty was a 1982 graduate of Perry High School whose life was cut short by a tragic automobile accident in 1997. The youngest of three children, she enjoyed being a member of the Girl Scouts and 4-H in her younger years. Not having any children of her own, she put all her loving efforts into her six nephews and one niece, making Christmas with all the children a most cherished memory. Children were a big part of her holiday and birthday enjoyment, which is why the Robert Poling Family is offering this scholarship for those wishing to make a child’s life better in any way possible. Deadline: April 3, 2025.
The Phillip Haskell Sciences/Environmental Sciences Scholarship was established in 2007 by the Perry Township Trustees and was renamed in 2014 in honor of Phillip Haskell in appreciation for his many years of public service to the Perry Township Trustees. The scholarship funds are raised through a community wide recycling program through the Abitibi Paper Retriever recycling program. Preference will be given to Perry students who are pursuing a career in any science or Environmental Science field and who have shown an interest and been involved in science related activities during high school. Deadline: April 3, 2025.
The Political Sciences/Social Services Scholarship was established in 2007 by the Perry Township Trustees. The scholarship funds are raised through a community wide recycling program. Preference will be given to Perry students who are pursuing a career in Political Science or Social Services and who have shown a commitment to community service and exhibited outstanding citizenship through their service and/or participation in community activities. Deadline: April 3, 2025.
The OAPSE/AFSCME Memorial Scholarship Program is available to children whose parent or legal guardian is a member in good standing of the Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE/AFSCME Local 4/AFL-CIO). Under the program, scholarships of $2,500.00 each are awarded to at least one winner from each of the ten (10) OAPSE Districts selected from the applicants who meet the eligibility requirements.
Any graduating high school senior who is a daughter or son of an active OAPSE/AFSCME member or whose legal guardian is an active OAPSE/AFSCME member and who intends to enroll in a full-time degree program in any two (2) or four (4) year accredited university, college, business or technical school is eligible to apply for a scholarship. The scholarships may be used for any field of study.
To be eligible, all information or supportive documentation requested in the application must be postmarked by March 1, 2025 and sent to the committee.
