Potential CCP Courses
Courses are subject to change based on student request and instructor availability.
If a Perry High School student receives a failing grade at the end of a College Credit Plus (CCP) course at any college or university or withdraws from or drops the college course per the drop-date guidelines established at the college/university where the course is being attempted, the Perry Local School District will bill the student/family for the cost of the course and cost(s) associated with textbooks.
The CCP law states the school district can pay up to 30 credits per school year with a maximum of 120 for the student’s total time in the program. The 30 credits is a combination of high school and college credits using the formula above. A student that chooses to go over 30 credits per school year will be financially responsible for the overage and will be charged the per credit rate of that college for the entire course that pushes the student over the credit limit.
Let your counselor know you are planning on taking CCP courses for next school year (includes summer).
Turn in a signed CCP Letter of Intent to the PHS Guidance office by April 1st.
You need to apply to each university you plan on taking CCP courses by the college’s deadline. You may need to apply to multiple CCP colleges for the same academic year depending on which classes you plan to take and where you plan to take them. You must notify your school counselor when you have applied to a CCP school so a transcript can be sent.
Make sure you meet the admission standards for the university that you apply. You will need to meet the college readiness standards with your ACT score or by completing the Accuplacer exam. You can plan with the university to take the Accuplacer placement exam.
Taking CCP courses at PHS: For students taking courses at Perry High School, courses will NOT be placed into their high school schedule in the same manner as other high school courses. You will have to follow steps 1-4 and register at the college/university for courses.
Taking CCP at a college campus: For students taking CCP courses on a college campus, students will arrange a time to meet with their school counselor at PHS and/or the university to complete the registration paperwork.
The academic calendar for your CCP courses is different from Perry’s calendar. Make sure you check your CCP calendar and attend your classes regularly. Failure to attend classes may result in you being withdrawn or fail the course due to lack of attendance and you will be charged for the course. Communicate any CCP concerns or questions with your professor, advisor, and school counselor.
